VIDEO: Making Sustainable Furniture in the Beautiful White Mountains
We're lucky. Want to know why?
Because we get to make sustainable hardwood furniture in one of the most beautiful regions on earth: the White Mountains of New Hampshire and the Green Mountains of Vermont.
The DCI factory is located in Lisbon New Hampshire, and our sawmill is less than an hour down the road in South Royalton, Vermont.
This is the place where I grew up. I was raised in the house and barn in the opening shot of this video. It's also where DCI founder Henry Kober, my father, started our residence hall furniture business.
Like most things, it started small. Henry built the furniture in the barn of our 1800's farmhouse by hand. We could have never imagined where we'd be today.
DCI is a family business that has grown into a community of local men and women who care deeply about building the finest sustainable furniture for student residence halls.
I hope you like this short video. It shows some of the stunning landscapes where we're privileged to make sustainable hardwood furniture and briefly depicts the journey from rough logs to the final furniture product.
